Artist: Marlene D Castro
Materials: Plastic casings, paper, beads, found items
It is a 2 piece art by Apheresis Clinic. The bigger piece is made from Zarxio plastic casings, unused tubings from Apheresis disposable kits that are for discard and blue plastic covers from IV sets. We worked as a group to gather materials that we could use to create the art. The rest of the materials came from home, gathered from left over materials that our children use for art projects. We used paper flowers, paper straws, bottle caps, felt paper, soda can tabs and beads. We put them all together to depict a world touched by cancer and a vision of a world without it. The 2nd piece is an essay that talks about the art while the bigger piece illustrates what the essay is talking about. It is a 2 piece art by Apheresis Clinic.
