Cecil Brewer (b. 4 February 1948, Rosser, Texas) began working at MD Anderson in 1970 as a Licensed Vocational Nurse while enrolled in a four-year registered nursing program. He was among the first black male nurses at M. D. Anderson and possibly the first. When he retired from the institution in 2014, he was serving as Quality Coordinator from MD Anderson’s Physician’s Network. In 1992, he was honored by Texas Nurses Association (TNA) District 9 for achievements and contributions to the nursing profession.
