Artist: Carly Cappozzo
Materials: Recycled magazines, fabric scraps, cotton stuffing
"Using a collection of recycled magazines donated by employees in the Rehabilitation Services Department, outpatient occupational therapy patients and therapists folded 1000 origami paper cranes over the last 2 years. United in the hope for a better tomorrow to lift us all up above the many challenges facing cancer patients and frontline workers in a year marked by so much despair. Crane “tree” created using a wooden dowel and wood from previous projects, recycled wire hangers, and leftover yarn. Padded tree skirt created using fabric scraps and stuffing from an old stuffed animal."
