Description
Artist: Andrew J. Burkhardt
Materials: Resin, repurposed wood
Les Paul style guitar. Body top and bottom made from salvaged hickory stump stabilized with resin epoxy. The body center and head decorative price are from red cedar for old barn planks salvaged from a barn. The neck is laminated maple and cherry from cabinet shop cutoffs and an old headboard. The finger board is cherry from cutoffs from a desk. All the hardware is used and repurposed and donated by Southpaw Guitars in Houston, southpawgutars.com. The were kind enough to provide the humbuckers, tuners, pots, switch, knobs and the pre-set wrap around bridge. Huge thank you to Jim for providing this gear allowing the guitar to keep to the spirit of the recycled art challenge!! The guitar is playable but I do not claim to be a luthier or a professional guitar builder. I think it is a piece of art highlighting that discarded materials can still be used and look great! either way it is unique and fun.
