Value and Impact
This poster reflects our endeavor to maintain the Diagnostic Genetics and Genomics (DGG) program at the forefront of graduate education. It showcases the process of integrating the cutting-edge technology of Nanopore sequencing, which generates long sequence reads, into the DGG training program with favorable learning outcomes. The successful implementation of teaching long-read sequencing of whole genomes has increased the depth of the existing curriculum. It has also benefited DGG students in that they get exposed to the most advanced technology and prepared for future positions as technologists in the molecular diagnostics field.
