Value and Impact

The Feb. 7, 2024 myPDO Monthly Webinar was a panel discussion on maintaining benefits for postdocs on individual fellowships, within the larger the context of the recently published recommendations of the Advisory Committee to the Director working group on re-envisioning NIH-supported postdoctoral training. This presentation from the Research Education & Training department at MD Anderson outlines the treatment of postdoctoral fellows on individual fellowships (such as the NIH NRSA) in terms of employment status and eligibility for benefits. Recent initiatives to enhance postdoc compensation (salary and benefits), policies and procedures are outlined along with priorities of internal and external decision-makers and stakeholders. A recording of the entire webinar is available on the myPDO archive of the National Postdoctoral Association (or NPA) at https://nationalpostdoc.org. NPA membership is required to access the myPDO archive.
