IGNITE (Inspiring Game-changers and Navigating Impassioned Trainees towards Excellence) is a training navigation resource offered by The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center to graduate students, medical students, postdocs, residents/fellows, and early-stage investigators exploring funding opportunities offered by the Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities and the Cancer Training Branch of the National Cancer Institute (NCI). IGNITE is open to all individuals interested in education and training mechanisms offered by the NCI, including non-MD Anderson students, trainees, and faculty. IGNITE offers:
(1) Technical assistance with education and training grants and funding opportunities for health disparities research;
(2) Grant navigation resources for navigating NCI programs and identifying appropriate contacts, as well as application checklists; and
(3) Professional development opportunities in grant writing, and cancer prevention and health disparities education
This presentation was given at the Cancer Research Training & Education Coordination Administrators Network meeting on Mon., Mar. 11, 2024. IGNITE is supported by funding for Community Outreach & Engagement and Cancer Research Training & Education Coordination to the MD Anderson Cancer Center Support Grant (P30 CA016672).
